Mombirds Helper Terms of Service (Independent Contractors)

Welcome to Mombirds! These Terms govern your engagement as a helper and independent contractor through Mombirds. By accepting work through Mombirds, you agree to these Terms.

Introduction

Mombirds is a managed home support service connecting families in the Austin, Texas area with vetted independent helpers. Mombirds is operated by Via Ladera LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

Independent Contractor Status

You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, or representative of Via Ladera LLC. You control how and when you perform your work. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business compliance. All earnings will be reported as 1099 income.

Helper Role and Expectations

You may be matched with families for tasks including laundry, tidying, organizing, kitchen resets, meal prep, and basic household support. You agree to:

  • Arrive on time and prepared for each visit

  • Communicate promptly with the Mombirds team

  • Respect the privacy, safety, and routines of each household

  • Follow Mombirds' Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

Helpers must:

  • Avoid smoking, drug use, or personal phone use during shifts

  • Refrain from bringing guests or photographing inside homes

  • Immediately report unsafe conditions or concerns to the Mombirds team

Scheduling and Reliability

Once assigned, you are expected to uphold your schedule. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in deactivation.

Payment

Mombirds pays helpers through Stripe Connect based on completed and approved sessions. Payment is processed after session completion. By setting up your Stripe account, you authorize this payment method. Receipt of any payment from Mombirds constitutes your continued agreement to these Terms.

Confidentiality

You agree to keep confidential any private information you encounter in a family's home, including names, schedules, and household details.

Non-Solicitation

You agree not to solicit, accept, or arrange direct work with any Mombirds client for 12 months following your last assignment with them, unless you receive prior written approval from Mombirds.

Liability

You agree to take reasonable care in all tasks. Mombirds is not responsible for injuries, damages, or losses that occur while you are performing services. Helpers are encouraged to carry personal liability coverage.

Termination

Mombirds may suspend or deactivate your access to the platform at its discretion, including for violations of these Terms or conduct harmful to clients or the platform.

Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. You will be notified of any material changes. Continued engagement with Mombirds after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
